With the introduction of its first product, NOMEC 1556, Single Wall Carbon Nanotubes with no Metal Catalyst on August 1st 2006, Idaho Space Materials, Inc. (ISM) has made a significant step forward in producing single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs). Most manufacturing methods, which use a metal catalyst to form the tubes, have several drawbacks that have impeded development of SWCNT applications. Idaho Space Materials uses a consistent, dependable, high yield, high volume, safe method to create SWCNTs without the use of a metal catalyst.

Idaho Space Materials, Inc. (ISM) is located in Boise, Idaho and was founded in December 2005 with the purpose of manufacturing advanced materials. ISM works to identify and commercialize existing patents in advanced materials, reducing overall time to market and cost of commercialization. With the introduction of ISMâs first product, Single Wall Carbon Nanotubes (SWCNTs) based on patents licensed from NASA; ISM has proven that it can rapidly move from licensing to product introduction. Production capacity is infinitely scalable to meet any consumer demand. ISM welcomes the opportunity to partner with any company or institution on research related to carbon nanotubes, carbon nanotube composites and other related innovations.
